Dr. Brown graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College, where she majored in History and Art History while also completing her premedical requirements and developing an interest in endocrinology, genetics, and women’s health. After Dartmouth, Dr. Brown returned to the New York area to complete her medical training. She has been practicing Infertility, Reproductive Endocrinology and Gynecology here since 1993, and she has been affiliated with NYU since 1996, when she co-founded the first satellite office of the NYU Program for IVF/NYU Fertility Center. In 2008 Dr. Brown relocated her office to the Upper East Side, where she provides expert, compassionate and personalized reproductive healthcare to women of all ages in a comfortable and private setting.
Dr. Brown is committed to helping her patients build their families and achieve optimal health of body and spirit. With each patient or couple she develops an individualized treatment plan that builds on a foundation of evidence based medicine but is influenced by the specific needs of each patient including underlying medical issues, readiness to utilize advanced reproductive technologies, and particular psychological, cultural and religious concerns.
Dr. Brown teaches medical students and residents at NYU Langone as well as at Queens Hospital Center and at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn, an NYU affiliate, where she is the founding director of the Infertility/Reproductive Endocrine Clinic.
Dr. Brown’s clinical and research interests include polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), reproductive aging, primary ovarian insufficiency/premature ovarian failure, fertility preservation, and perimenopause. She has been a regular speaker at educational conferences sponsored by patient advocacy organizations including The American Fertility Association, RESOLVE, A TIME, and LGBT Support. Dr. Brown has also been featured on ABC’s 20/20 and in the ABC News Medical Unit Blog.
