Dr. Hirmand entered private practice in 1999 after receiving her Medical Doctorate from Harvard Medical School and completing her residency and fellowship in Plastic Surgery and subspecialty fellowships in oculoplastic and craniofacial surgery. She is Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Weill-Cornell Medical College and is a member of the attending staff at The New York Presbyterian/Cornell Medical Center, Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat and Lenox Hill Hospitals. Her practice focuses on surgical and non-surgical aesthetic treatments, specializing in eyelid and facial rejuvenation. She has pioneered safe injection techniques for around the eyes. She also has a special interest in secondary breast surgery. Dr. Hirmand continues to conduct clinical research and has published and presented scientific articles in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Hirmand is actively involved with teaching of surgical and injection techniques nationally and internationally. In 2012, Dr. Hirmand established the regenerative medspa program, SkinLabRx, which focuses on anti-inflammatory and bio-stimulatory solutions that harness the skin's own ability for molecular regeneration. Dr. Hirmand graduated valedictorian with a B.S. in molecular biology at the University of California, Davis in 1984 and went into medicine after a year of continued cancer research. She completed her Doctorate in Medicine at Harvard Medical School in 1990. She combined her medical studies with a master’s in public administration, focusing on international health development, at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. She came to New York in 1990 where she trained at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in surgery from 1990 to 1995. As part of her training, Dr. Hirmand was a surgical research fellow at Cornell Medical College and Rockefeller University and completed her research project as a visiting scholar at Oxford University. She resumed her plastic surgery training at The New York Hospital in 1995. After finishing the specialty training, she pursued sub-specialty fellowship in eyelid and aesthetic surgery in Atlanta at Paces Plastic Surgery/Emory University.
