Dr. Jonathan Glashow is a Board Certified orthopedic surgeon and Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He specializes in sports injuries of the knee and shoulder, including advanced arthroscopic all-inside anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, revision ACL reconstruction, and BEAR ACL repair, a technique that restores the patient’s own torn ligament rather than replacing it with a graft. In October 2021, Dr. Glashow performed the first commercial BEAR implant procedure in the United States. He also performs arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, shoulder labral repair, separated shoulder surgery, MCL repair, meniscal transplant, patellar and quadriceps tendon repair, pectoral and biceps tendon repair, fracture care, and Mako robotic-assisted partial and total knee replacement.

Widely respected for his precision and application of groundbreaking surgical techniques, Dr. Glashow’s approach is based on a philosophy that each procedure is customized to the individual needs of each patient. He uses minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques so that downtime and immobility are greatly reduced. His focus is not only a patient’s full recovery but the speed of that recovery and return to sport. To support this, he coordinates post-operative care with physical therapists, coaches, and athletic trainers.

Castle Connolly has ranked him one of America’s Best Doctors, New York Magazine has featured him in numerous annual Best Doctors issues, and he has been named one of the New York Metro Area’s Best Doctors every year since 2000.

He completed his undergraduate degree at Washington University and received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, followed by fellowship training in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute/UCLA, and a traveling shoulder fellowship in London, Ontario, Canada and at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
