Introduction

Dr. Ron Noy is one of the most highly regarded orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine specialists in the country. Over the years he has taken care of numerous professional athletes including members of the Knicks, Nets, Rangers, Islanders, Colts, PGA, LPGA, AVP (pro beach volleyball) to name just a few. He has served as the head team physician to the Brooklyn Kings (USBL), Harlem Strongdogs (ABA), Baruch College, Wabash College, High School for Arts and Design, and Cathedral High School in Indiana. As a physician, he has covered the 2004 Olympics in Athens (baskeball and gymnastics), NYC Marathon, Nike Women’s Marathon, Rock and Roll Marathons, martial arts championships, Golden Glove boxing, British Open, US Open, and many other tournaments and events. He founded an organization to help athletes and artists without insurance to get urgent healthcare. He is currently one of the national spokesperson for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and is often interviewed and quoted on sports related topics in the news. He has a strong following in the art world, taking care of many artists, musicians and actors. He also has an international following, with many patients flying in to the US to have surgery with him. Dr. Noy has trained with some the worlds most famous orthopedic surgeons thoughout his training, from New York City to Indianappolis. He also has a backround of biomedical engineering studying at the Johns Hopkins University. He has used this knowledge to develop better techniques, equipment and outcomes in his surgeries and patients. He was a high level athlete with professional aspirations that was cut down with a knee injury early in his career. This led him into the orthopedic and sports medicine field, to help others to not lose their dream because of injury. He always remembers what it was like to be on the other side of the table, and puts his patients goals first. Dr. Noy is extremely compassionate and passionate about his patient care, and sits on the orthopedic quality improvement committee at Beth Israel. He is known for his attention to detail and avidly becomes his patients’ advocate during surgery, making sure everying is perfect to optimize the outcome. He has developed techniques to help the post surgical recovery period be painless most of the time, and is constantly reassessing the techniques in order to keep improving on them. Yearly awards have included People’s Choice, TopDoc, Top Orthopedists (Sports Medicine), Top Surgeons (Orthopedic Surgery) and others, but Dr. Noy’s favorite recognition is the high percentage of patients that are referred to him by other patients.
